- A Registered Nurse "on call" 24-hours a day, 7-days a week
A referral for home care can be made by patients, family members, friends, physicians or other health care professionals.
To determine if home care is appropriate, patients and families should discuss the following questions with their physicians:
- Where is the best place for you to recover or receive treatment?
- What is the most cost-effective way to carry out your plan of care?
- What treatments, instructions, tests, etc., are needed to meet your health care needs?
The Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital Home Care Department is Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. Services are reimbursable by Medicare Part A, Medicaid, and most insurance companies if skilled services are required for homebound patients.
